Willa Annie Hampton, aged 85 years, passed away peacefully at the Herbert and District Integrated Health Facility (Herbert Nursing Home) with family by her side on Tuesday, February 28th, 2017. She was predeceased by her parents, William and Jessie Dunlop; brother, Donald Dunlop; and daughter, Janice Heebner. Willa is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Allan Hampton. They were married on October 20th, 1953 at the United Church in Ernfold, SK. Willa will be lovingly remembered by her sisters, Isabella (Bert) Weins and Adella Hetke; children: Keith (Bonnie) Hampton, Darcy Hampton, Bill (Vikki) Hampton, Paula (Al) Martens, Harold (Jenn) Hampton, Earl Hampton, and Ian (Maria) Hampton; son-in-law, Blaine Heebner; as well as many, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Willa was born November 27th, 1931 in the Ernfold district. She grew up and spent the majority of her life in the Ernfold area. After graduating high school in Ernfold, she worked at a photography shop in Trail, BC and at Woolworths in Regina, SK. Willa and Allan raised their family and farmed north of Ernfold until they retired in 1991 and moved to Central Butte, SK. After a few more moves, they moved to Herbert, SK and in the fall of 2016 moved into the nursing home. The Funeral Service was held on Monday, March 6th, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. in the Ernfold Community Hall, Ernfold, SK. Edna Nordin led the service and a private family interment was held at the Ernfold Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Willa’s name may be made to the Ernfold Cemetery Association, Box 324, Herbert, SK S0H 2A0.
