Douglas Lloyd Johnson

Johnson, Douglas Lloyd – Age 83, of Truro and formerly of Burnside, passed away on March 3, 2017 in Cedarstone Enhanced Care, Truro, after a long and difficult illness, with his family at his side. Born in Dartmouth, he was a son of the late Peter and Minnie (Sheaves) Johnson.

His growing in Dartmouth and early years working at Nieforth Furniture held many fond memories for him. Later on, he was employed with Colchester East Hants School Board, where he was a bus driver, mechanic and custodian.

Surviving are his wife, the former Ann Harvey; son, Stephen (Betty); daughters, Laura (Terry) LeBlanc, Lisa (Peter Delahey), Johanna Ratynsky; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; siblings, Peter Johnson, Eileen Way, Bernice Warren, Diane Joy. He was predeceased by son, Allan in infancy; brother, Donald; sisters, Shirley Hatcher, Betty Eavis; son-in-law, Darius Ratynsky.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life be held at a later date. Burial will be in Middle Stewiacke Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia or a charity of choice.
