Passed away peacefully at the Health Sciences Centre with his family watching over him after a short battle with heart disease. Predeceased by his beloved wife Ruby, father Peter (1989), mother Annie (2000), brothers Francis, William (Marg), John (Mary), Jimmy (Kitty), Danny, Ronnie, Edward and sisters Mary (Joe) and Elizabeth; sisters-in-law Donna and Kack, brothers-in-law Bill Street and Bill English. Pete will be sadly missed by his companion Kay Grenning and all the Grenning family. Children Lisa, Nancy (Robert Walsh), Stephen; brothers: Raymond (Hannah), Joe, Doug and Gerald; sisters: Shirley, Eleanor (Eddie), Doreen; sister-in-law Sybil, many nieces, nephews and family friends. A special thank you to the staff at the Health Sciences for taking such good care of him during his short stay. Cremation has taken place. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation on Friday from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. - 12 noon. Funeral Services will take place at Caul's Chapel, LeMarchant Road, on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 12noon. Inurnment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Janeway Children's Hospital. There will be a gathering held at 2 p.m. at the Legion Branch #1, 59 Blackmarsh Road, St. John's, NL to celebrate Pete's life.
