Richard Penney
Richard Penney passed away peacefully at the Glace Bay General Hospital on March 17, 2017. Richard worked at the machine shop, Cape Breton Development Corporation, for 44 years. Richard is survived by his wife, Florence (Lolly) Stewart; son-in-law, Harry; grandson, Richard (Mike) and great-grandson, Mikey; granddaughter, Lisa (Mike) and great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Kayleigh and Jackson; grandsons, Donnie, Alex and Tyler; granddaughter, Katie and great-granddaughter, Zoe. Richard is also survived by brothers, Arthur (Ehtel) and Wesley; sister, Gloria (the late Jimmy); sister-in-law, Lorraine; niece, Nancy who was always at his side and special family friend, Mike. Richard was predeceased by his parents, Albert and Annie May (Brudge) Penney; his only son, Dougie and his only daughter, Donna Leyte; sisters, Margaret (Donnie) MacDonald and Gladys and brother, Albert. A private service will be held on Friday, March 24 for the immediate family. Donations in Richard’s memory can be made to the CNIB.
