Passed peacefully away at Saint Luke's Homes on Wednesday, March 22, 2017, formerly of Kings Cove, Bonavista Bay, Ruby Pike, age 77 years. Predeceased by parents Hubert and Eva Monks. Leaving to mourn, her loving husband of 56 years Roy; daughter Denise Williams (Lee); sons: David and Craig (Janine White); grandchildren: Angela and Scott Rafael; siblings: Charlie (Betty), Hubert (Linda), Pearl (Stan), Violet and Allan (Rhonda); brothers-in-law: Bruce (Ruth) and John; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members and a large circle of friends. Ruby spent many dedicated years volunteering with various organizations including: Girl Guides of Canada, USC and Hoyles Escasoni. Special thank you to the wonderful staff of Saint Luke's Homes, specifically Pleasantview Wing, for their dedication, care and compassion over these past two years. Visitation to take place at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue, on Friday, March 24, from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm and on Saturday, March 25, from 10 am - 12 noon. Funeral service to take place from Barrett's Funeral Chapel on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 2 pm with a reception to follow downstairs at Barrett's Reception Centre. Interment at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, will take place at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, donations in Ruby's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Newfoundland and Labrador or a charity of one's choice.
