Noreen Anne Jackman (nee Farrell)

Noreen Anne Jackman (nee Farrell)

Date de naissance : 10 janvier 1940

Date de décès : 17 avril 2017

It is with great sadness that the Jackman family announces the passing of Noreen Anne Jackman (nee Farrell). Our dear wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend leaves us with too many happy memories to count in a life of Christian generosity and laughter. She was predeceased by her parents Matthew and Catherine Farrell (nee Hammond), of Bell Island, her dear sister Catherine Marie, brother-in-law Hank Light, and beloved grandson Mark. Left to mourn are her devoted and loving husband of 50 years Donald, children Paul (Sandra), Sean (Robert), Catherine (Doug), grandchildren Lauren Jackman, Charlie and James MacKay, her sister Loretta Light, brother James (Rose) Farrell, brother-in-law Jack Lavers (Jane), nieces and nephews David (Darcia), Robert, Catherine, Brian (Monique) Light, Troy Lavers (Adrian), Fr. John Lavers and extended family. She also leaves a large and widespread circle of family and friends reaching from Bell Island to St. John's and across Canada and beyond. She loved meeting and welcoming new people into her home. Noreen spent her formative years on Bell Island and became a school teacher there as a young adult. When she and Don married in 1966, they moved to Mount Pearl to raise their family. She regarded Bell Island as her second home, however, and so the family enjoyed weekly trips there. Noreen dedicated her life to her family and helping others. She comforted many in their illness and grief over the years - a Good Samaritan. She was an avid music lover and supporter of the arts. She was steadfast in her Roman Catholic faith despite challenges and health problems in her later years. The Jackman family thanks her health-care providers: her wonderful family physician Dr. F. Essaji and Drs. Michael Paul, Julia Trahey, and Dr. C. Ho. We would also like to thank the dedicated homecare workers who made Noreen's final year at home more manageable: Gladys, Eileen, Amanda and Gloria. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation on Saturday, April 22 and Sunday, April 23 from 2-4 p.m. and from 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place on Monday, April 24, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. at Mary Queen of the World Church, 785 Topsail Road, Mount Pearl, NL. Cremation to follow. Inurnment will take place at a later date at St. Michael's Roman Catholic Cemetery, Bell Island, NL. In lieu of flowers, we invite a donation to the Canadian Diabetes Association, the Kidney Foundation of Canada or a charity of your choice.
