Deborah Pauline ‘Debbie’ Skinner

With sadness we, the family of Deborah Pauline Skinner, regret to announce her passing on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Born November 25, 1955 in Neils Harbour, she was the daughter of the late Angus and Jennie (Fitzgerald) Fitzgerald.
At one time, Debbie and Frank owned and operated the Seal Island Motel, Boularderie and was a member of St. Michael’s Church, Bras d’Or.
She is survived by her husband, Frank; daughter, Crystal Warner, Sydney; son, Greg, Sydney; sisters, Aldona and Jacqueline; brothers, Austin, Wayne, Russell, Donnie, Bobby and Roger; four grandchildren, Alicia, Ottawa, Andrew, Arichat, Yasmine and Distiney, Sydney.
Debbie was predeceased by her son, Justin; sister, Irene, and brothers, Carson, Bruce and Lee. There will be no visitation and a graveside service will be held at Carmichael Cemetery, Big Baddeck on Sunday, April 30 at 2 p.m., with Deacon Wally Ivany officiating.
Memorials may be made to palliative care at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. Special thanks to Billy and Cathy Gosse for their thoughtfulness and kindness during this difficult time.
