Ethel Reeve

Ethel Reeve

Date de décès : 17 janvier 2017

Born in Gravelbourg, and raised on the farm near Broadview, SK, she was the daughter of Lillian Mary Hewitt (Swanson) and Charles Nelson Hewitt, and older sister to June (Lloyd Switzer). After Mom left home at age 15, she attended boarding school, and after graduation, continued to Teacher's College and university. She taught school first in Big Beaver, and then near Broadview. When she was 21, she married her sweetheart, Ronald James Reeve of Grenfell. They moved to Moose Jaw in 1951 and raised their family while she continued to teach at Empire School, as well as at Pasqua and Drinkwater Schools. Even as a child, Mom's favourite room in their home was the kitchen. As she raised her own family, the kitchen continued to be the hub of the family wheel and her delicious homemade meals. Being at the lake with family and friends was her joy. We knew that we were unconditionally loved. Memories of her smile, her gentleness, her tenacity and her powerful love are the gifts she left us. Forever loved by her six children: Warren, Barry (Gerri), Randy (Margo), Lori White (Ron), Kelly (Karen), Rick (Michelle), 13 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. Ethel was predeceased by Ron Reeve, her husband of 66 years, their infant daughter Rhonda, grandson Colton White, and granddaughter Maranda Reeve. If you would like to honour Ethel's memory, you can: volunteer - smile at a stranger - forgive - fill your home with family, friends and food - believe in your kids - support your spouse. We will hold a memorial service and a tea on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Parkview Funeral Chapel, 474 Hochelaga St. W, Moose Jaw, SK. Blair & Kelly Scott, Funeral Directors
