Norman "Wayne" Rodgers

It is with heavy hearts we announce that Norman “Wayne” Rodgers, a lifelong resident of Prince Albert, passed away on April 5th, 2017 at the age of 70. Wayne’s 33 year career as a bus driver for STC took him to many places throughout Canada and the USA. At the time of his retirement in 2008, he was the senior driver in the province with over 1 million miles of safe driving. His love for the job was evident to all of those that knew him and the passengers that he interacted with. He made many friends and acquaintances over the years always greeting them with a smile and a joke. Many will remember seeing Wayne driving his 1979 vintage Ford Bronco which was his pride and joy. Wayne is fondly remembered by family and friends. Wayne is survived by: his children, Roy (Linnea) Rodgers and Janie (Lee) Denton; grandsons Jesse and Eli Rodgers and Jordan Denton; sister, Sandra Wagner of Nova Scotia and close friends Greg and Pam McCullagh. Wayne was predeceased by his parents, Norman and Mabel Rodgers and his granddaughter, Geanine Denton. The family are very grateful to the staff at Herb Bassett’s Lakeland Trail for the special care and comfort given Wayne over the last six months. As per Wayne’s request there will be no service. Wayne you will be missed.
