Elizabeth Alice ‘Betty’ Kirby

Elizabeth Alice ‘Betty’ Kirby, 86 of Sydney, passed peacefully on April 22, 2017 in Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Born in Sydney she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Florence (Turner) MacNeil.
Betty is survived by her sons, Sheldon (Maureen), Kenneth (Rosemary) and Wendell (Patti); grandchildren, Christopher, Michael, Megan, Stephanie, Steven, Courtenay and Liam; sister, Mary MacNeil of Glace Bay, and first cousin, Joyce Carpenter, Baton Rouge, Louisiana
She was predeceased by her husband, Bernard and brother, Donald MacNeil.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 25 at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Sydney River, Rev. Bill Burke will officiate. A reception will follow the service. Interment in Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks.
