Thelma Eunice Smallwood, age 83, passed away peacefully at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Charlottetown, PE, on Wednesday, April 26, 2017. Beloved wife of the late Layton Ray Smallwood and best mother in the world to Reverend Barbara (the late Reverend Charles) Wagner, Ray (Cathy), Blaine (Anne), and Thane (Suzanne). Treasured Nanny to Reverend Kyle (Dr. Julie) Wagner, Dr. Melissa (Josh), Amanda (Noah), Matthew, Anastasia, Connor and Stephen Smallwood and great-grandchildren Elijah Wagner and Malcolm Smallwood Gataveckas. Sister of Estelle Acorn and Wilma Grant, sister-in-law of Ray Smallwood, Lillian Boswell, Debbie Wilson and Goldie Smallwood. Also survived by many special nieces and nephews and special friends John Meinhardt, Ruth, Paul and Ben Naugler and Donnie and Joanne Brown. Predeceased by siblings Johnny, Victor, Alice (Fred) Furness, George, Norman, Bea (Sean) Devine, Marcus, Betty (Elwood) MacQuarrie, Harold and Kerry Wilson; sisters-in-law Bessie (Stirling) Birt, Daisy (Cyril) Sanderson and Iona Smallwood and brothers-in-law Donnie Acorn, Joe Grant, Waldon Boswell and John Smallwood. Resting at MacLean Funeral Home Swan Chapel, Charlottetown, PE. Funeral Saturday, April 29, 2017 from Park Royal United Church at 10 a.m. Interment in the Peoples Cemetery, Mount Stewart. Thelma loved flowers so they are most welcomed; however if so desired, memorials to Park Royal United Church or Diabetes Canada would be appreciated.
