Ruby Frances Capstick (nee Lang), 92, of Saskatoon, passed away peacefully April 26, 2017, at St. Paul’s Hospital. Ruby was born in Biggar, Saskatchewan, July 22, 1924 to Nellie and Thomas Lang. After completing high school, Ruby moved to Saskatoon to attend the Saskatoon Business College. While living and working in Saskatoon she met John and they were married July 15th, 1944. They were blessed with 3 children, Robert (Bob), Linda and Lori. While being a full-time mom, Ruby did the book-keeping for Capstick Plumbing as they built up the business. In the summers many hours were spent on the golf course and at the cabin at Waskesiu Lake. Ruby was an avid golfer and a member for many years at the Saskatoon Golf and Country Club and a lifetime member of the Waskesiu Golf Club. Waskesiu was Ruby’s favorite place and she had many wonderful friends there. During the winter she was passionate about curling and was a long time member of the Granite Curling Club. She continued to be active throughout her life and enjoyed being with family and friends. She will be dearly remembered for her love of animals, witty sense of humor and willingness to help where she was needed. Ruby was predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Nellie; brothers, Tommy, Abby and John Lang; husband, John (1997); son, Robert John (1973); son-in-law, Robert Smith-Windsor (2003). She is survived by daughters, Linda Smith-Windsor, Lori Cooke (Eldon); grandchildren, Matthew Smith-Windsor (Jodi), Ty Cooke, Diana Cooke, Hiep Cooke, Michelle DeAngelis (Ciro), Breanne Heide (Jeremy), Suzanne Schlotzhauer (Kris) and 8 great grandchildren. We would like to thank the staff at Warm and Cozy Care Home for their superb care and the doctors and nurses at 500 ward at St. Paul's hospital for their care and compassion during mom’s short stay in hospital. Thank you to family doctor, Dr. Mick Jutras. At Ruby's request there will be no funeral. A private family interment will be held in early June followed by a gathering for family and friends.
