Passed away peacefully in the company of her loving family on Sunday, April 30, 2017 after a very brief stay at the Palliative Care Unit, L.A. Miller Centre, Wornetta "Neta" Lydia Marie Luscombe (nee Dinney) aged 93 years. Neta was predeceased by her husband, Hubert, son, Melvin (Theresa), and siblings, Minnie Snow (Gordon); John (Minnie); Cleo (Rowena); Jessie Legge (Isaac); Eliza Foote (Stanley); Warrick (Kay); Lucy Granter (Fred); and Ruth Chapel (George). Leaving to mourn with precious memories are her children: Lucy; Janice Smith (Willis); Ivan (Roseanne); Sandra (Richard Gosse); grandchildren: Dwayne and Lori; Dean, Suzanne and Jonathan; Trevor, Troy and Trista; and Lauren, Andrew and Daniel; her sister, Ruby Baker (Sam), 10 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. Born in Pilley's Island and raised in Deer Lake, Neta moved to Stephenville to work with Bannikin's and there met and married Bert in 1945. Together until his passing in 2001, they raised their family in Stephenville and opened their home to so many others: housing various friends and relations, and visiting teachers. After a flood relocated her neighborhood in 2005, Neta joined Sandra and Richard in St. John's, where for more than a decade they enjoyed her quick wit, remarkable memories, passion for good coffee and better chocolate, and loving attention each and every day. Her company and care will be sorely missed. Special thanks to dedicated home care giver Lisa Parsons, and to the doctors, nurses and staff of the Ross Family Medical Clinic, St. Clare's Hospital and at the L.A. Miller Centre.
