We regret to announce the passing of Carol Ann Brown, 71, of North Sydney, on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Born in Sydney Mines on December 25, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Ray and Veronica (Popovich) Dillman.
Carol Ann is survived by her daughter, Heather Young; granddaughter, Ashley Young; sister, Wallina (Daryl) Burton, and sister-in-law, Sarah Jane Finlayson. Also left to mourn are her nieces and nephews, Colleen, Walter, Paula, Tania, Lisa and Christopher.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Kimberly Young; brother, Thomas Finlayson; first husband, John Young, and her second husband, Tom Brown.
Her family would like to thank the staff at Taigh Solas, Palliative Care, and the Doctors and nurses in the ICU, for the care given to Carol. Thank you also to all who visited Carol.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Northside Hospital Foundation.
Visitation for Carol Ann Brown will be held on Tuesday, May 9, 2017, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in J.M. Jobes Funeral Home, 635 Main St., Sydney Mines. A celebration of her life will take place on Wednesday, at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church, Sydney Mines, with Fr. James Oliver officiating.
