It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Annie Camp, of Canterbury Hall, Riverview, NB on Sunday, May 7, 2017 at the age of 82 after an extended battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Annie was born in New Waterford, NS, 1934.
She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Kenneth E. Camp of Riverview, NB. Annie was also predeceased by her parents, Annie (Sutherland) MacNeil and Michael MacNeil of New Waterford; brothers, Joe and Raymond, and a sister, Catherine Wile.
She is survived by four brothers, Lonnie MacNeil (Diane) and Michael MacNeil of New Waterford, Billy (Ontario) and Joe (New Waterford); two sisters, Mary (Langley, BC) and Ursula (John) Kellar (Kanata, ON); her two daughters, Sandra Rose (Sackville, NB) and Barbara (Stephen) Dryden (Moncton, NB), and two sons, Kenneth Camp (Linda McKeague) (Riverview, NB) and Robert Camp (Debbi McMahon) (Riverview, NB).
Annie was very proud of her family and ten grandchildren, Jason, Greg, Ashley, Stephanie, Matthew, Jessica, Samantha, Nathaniel, Ethan and Aidan. She also had one great grandson, Jace. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. We would like to acknowledge the love and support over the years of her extended family, Effie, George, John, Lila, Sharon, Elaine, Lloyd and Larry, and her close friends.
Annie graduated from the St. Elizabeth School of Nursing, North Sydney, NS in 1955. She worked as an RN at the St. Elizabeth Hospital, North Sydney, NS, the Harbour View Hospital in Sydney Mines, NS, and later at the Moncton Hospital until her retirement.
Annie enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing cards, sailing, and summer visits at the Arm of Gold Campground in Cape Breton.
The family would like to thank the staff of Canterbury Hall, Riverview, Dr. Sinclair, and the staff of the Palliative Care Unit of the Moncton Hospital for their loving care.
Visitations will take place at Fair Haven Funeral Home on Thursday, May 11 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. A Celebration of Life Service will be officiated by Rev. Steve Berube on Friday, May 12 at 2 p.m. in the Fair Haven chapel (1177 Salisbury Road, Moncton), followed by a reception. Interment will be at Fair Haven Memorial Gardens Niche.
In Annie’s memory, donations to the Alzheimer’s Society or Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation (Palliative Care) would be appreciated by the family.
