PURDY, Genevieve Elizabeth- age 87, of Kelly’s Cove, N.S. passed away on May 7th, 2017. Born in Yarmouth, NS on September 14th, 1929 she was the daughter of the late George and Leona (Decamp) Boudreau. Genevieve was a housewife most of her life and in her spare time she enjoyed travelling and playing Bingo. Genevieve was also very fond of her Teddy Bear Chihuaha who was affectionately known as Teddy. She is survived by her daughters, Gwen (Paul) Lake and Penny MacFadyen; sons, Vernon (Wendy) Penney, Robert Purdy and Wayne (Susie) Purdy; two sisters and two brothers as well as 22 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her first husband Walter Penney and her second husband Keith Purdy; sons, Ricky Boudreau, Keith Purdy and Norman Penney; four sisters and two brothers as well as three grandchildren. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. There was a memorial service Saturday, May 13th at 2:00 p.m. from Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Eugene “Bud” Hurlbert officiated. Donations in memory may be made to Gilles Boudreau and Friends Cancer Help Fund.
