Date de décès : 16 mai 2017

Our dear mother, Margaret Frances (Peggy) Erickson, 95, passed away Tuesday, May 16, 2017 in the Heart of the Valley Long Term Care Facility, Middleton. Born in Biggar, Saskatchewan, she was the youngest daughter of Walter and Hannah Mills. Mom married the love of her life, Archie Erickson after he returned home from WW11. After military postings in St. James, Manitoba, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and Greenwood, Nova Scotia, retirement took them to British Columbia where they lived for 30 years before coming to Middleton. Our mother loved to sing and play the piano and was a member of several choirs over the years. Square dancing was a large part of her life and she and Dad were able to dance with many SD clubs throughout the province. Highlights included dancing on the Don Messer’s Jubilee show and at Expo 67. Girl Guiding played an important role in Mom's life both as a Girl Guide and as a leader. She also took joy in working with Dad delivering meals to the elderly and shut-in with Meals on Wheels. Peggy is survived by daughters Anna (Fred) Gatenby, Port Alberni, BC, Leslie (Aubrey) Morris, Melvern Square, NS, Brenda (Denis) Prillo, Salmon Arm, BC. Grandchildren, Dwain Spence, Jillian (James) Engelsman, Morgan (Stephen) Patriquin, Eric (Kyla) Gatenby, Kimberly (Tom) Chapman, Patricia (Jon) Friesen, Erica (Brent) Foster, Bradley (Karilyn) Morris, Craig (Lori) Williams, Tia Williams (Scott Hearty) and 24 great- grandchildren. Peggy was predeceased by her husband; sisters, Irene Godfrey and Gladys Mills and an infant son. Cremation has taken place. Visitation was held from 7-9 pm on Saturday, May 20, 2017 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street (902) 825-3448, from where a Memorial Service took place at 2 pm, Sunday, May 21, 2017 with Rev. Danny Smith officiating. A reception for family and friends followed the service. Private family interment was in North Kingston Cemetery. Donations in memory may be made to Middleton Baptist Church or a Charity of Choice. To the staffs of Evergreen Nursing Home in Coldbrook and The Heart of the Valley Long Term Care Facility in Middleton, thank you so much for the loving care you provided for our mother. There were so many special members of each staff who took the time to talk with, play with, and encourage Mom: she loved you all - Thank you.
