It is with great sadness that we the family announce the sudden passing of Donna Mae Ferguson, 69 of Dutch Brook, on Monday, May 22, 2017 at the QE11 Infirmary, Halifax.
Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Erna (MacGillivary) Ferguson.
She was employed at National Sea Products and Louisbourg Seafoods until her retirement.
She is survived by her special friend of 20 years, Tanya Andersen; her brothers, Joseph ‘Joe’ Ferguson, Dutch Brook and Ewen (Ruth) Ferguson, Prime Brook; many nieces and nephews; her extended family, Wesley Bagnell, Brampton, Ont., and Cora MacNeil, Irish Vale, as well as her beloved dog, Brandy.
Besides her parents, Michael and Erna, she was predeceased by sister, Kaye Toomey, and brothers, Winston, Jimmy ‘Bart’ and Wilfred Ferguson.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Saturday, May, 27, 2017 from 1-2 p.m. follow by a memorial service at 2 p.m. at the SW Chant & Son Funeral home with Rev. Sheldon Chant officiating.
Burial to follow in Oakfield Cemetery, Mira.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Heart and Stroke Foundation and the NS Lung Association.
