Dickie, Hazel Audrey of Peterborough ON, formerly of Bass River Nova Scotia. Peacefully at Extendicare Peterborough Ontario, on Saturday, May 20, 2017, at the age of 89. Predeceased by loving husband Arthur “Artie” Dickie. Devoted mother to Blaine (Ronda) Dickie, Peterborough Ontario, Sheldon Dickie, Chelsea Quebec, Shannon (John) MacInnis, Burlington Ontario, and the late Evan Dickie. Cherished Grammie of Alana (Dave) Fudge, Allison (Jason) Flemming, Jared (Holly) Dickie, Emma Dickie (Ron Bissonnette), Aaron (Nina) Dickie, Sara (Rob) MacIntosh, Jeff (Candice) MacInnis, and Nick (Brittany) MacInnis. Great Grammie of 12 with one more on the way.
Hazel was born in 1927, one of eight children, on the family farm at Carrs Brook Nova Scotia, with four brothers and three sisters. Hazel enjoyed family events and liked hosting games, dinners and dance parties. She was active in the community, a valued member of the United Church Women, and the Bass River Fire Brigade Ladies Auxiliary.
A memorial service will be held at the ASHBURNHAM FUNERAL HOME, 840 Armour Road, Peterborough ON, on Friday, June 2, 2017 at 1 pm. A committal service will be held at Riverside United Church, Bass River NS, at a later date.
