Passed away May 13th, 2017 at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital at the age of 56 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Christine Gibbons; daughter Crystal Anna Gibbons; special niece Oriana P. Caines (goddaughter); mother Marjorie Gibbons; brothers Dennis (Cassie), Truman (Bernice) and Herman; sisters Celia (Ward), Ellen (Mike), Sheilagh (Lloyd); nephews and nieces Tamara (Steve), Nathan (Penney), DJ, Chelsey (Andrew), Michael, Joshua, Logan, Marissa (Doug), Christine (Leon), Mandy; great nieces and nephews Aubree, Kaci-Rae as well as sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and many nieces and nephews in the Pittman family. Royal was predeceased by his father Nathaniel Gibbons; grandparents Isaac Gibbons and Sarah-Jane Coates, Walter and Mahala Applin; father-in-Law Christopher J. Pittman and mother-in-law Bridgett Pittman. Visitation took place from the Our Lady of Grace Roman Catholic Church in Bird Cove from where the funeral also took place on May, 17th, 2017 at 2:00 pm with Fr. Bosco officiating. Interment followed. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre’s Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Siobhan Mauger, funeral director.
