Passed peacefully away on May 25, 2017 at the Dr. L.A. Miller Centre, surrounded by her loving family, Vera Egla Blackwood (Rodgers), age 85 years. Predeceased by her loving husband Fred; parents: John and Angelina Rodgers; siblings: Hubert, Edward (Ned) Fanny and Marie. Leaving to mourn "Mom's Boy" Stirling (Mickie); devoted daughter Joan; treasured grandsons: Jason, Danny (Beth), John (Lori), Zachary and Nicholas, and Nan's Little Puffin, her beautiful great-granddaughter Charlotte. Also leaving to mourn her sister Alice, her cousin "brother" Gordon Starkes (Linda), as well as many nieces, nephews and close friends. Resting at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Saturday, May 27th and Sunday, May 28th from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Funeral service to take place on Monday, May 29 at 2 pm from the St. James United Church, Elizabeth Avenue. Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Kenmount Road.
