It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden death of Eric Newell.
He was the son of the late Joseph and Jane (Stanley) Newell.
Eric was the last surviving member of his family. He retired from the blooming mill department of Sydney Steel.
Eric was predeceased by four brothers, Edgar, Maxwell, Joseph and Wesley, three sisters, Olive Terrio, Levina Jacobs and Princalina Sheppard.
Eric was a kind and gentle soul and will be missed by many nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation at the request of the deceased. Interment in Hardwood Hill Cemetery will take place at a later date.
Donations may be made to the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.
