An angel has received her wings. Yolanda, affectionately known as ‘Momma’ to all, passed away into God’s hands, Sunday, Feb. 8, 2009, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Donkin, July 22, 1911, she was a daughter of the late Alphonse and Stella Morrellato.
She resided on Grand Lake Road and Harbourstone Enhanced Care and was a devoted member of St. Augustine Church.
Left to cherish her memories are a daughter, Yolanda ‘Cookie’ (Wally) Marks; son, John (Judy); daughter-in-law, Yolanda Cechetto; grandchildren, John, Sharon, Linda, Karen, Gordie, Kimberly, David, Shauna, Michael, Darlene, Judy and Christina; 18 great-grandchildren and 10 great great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, John, son, Eric, daughter, Maria, sister, Regina and brothers, Julio, Mario and Americo.
A friend to all who knew her, she will be remembered as a gracious lady, never complaining. She faced the challenges of life presented to her with grace and dignity.
Visitation for Yolanda will be held in Sydney Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be held at St. Theresa Church, 10 a.m. Wednesday, with Rev. James Oliver officiating. Interment in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.
