Norma Patricia Albers, 74, Munroe Avenue Extension, passed away on Thursday March 1, 2007, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born September 10, 1932, in Smiths Falls, Ontario, she was daughter of Henry and Iva May (LaRose) Powell. She was an active member of the Munroe Avenue Baptist Church and was an inspiration to many of her church friends, reading her Bible frequently. Norma enjoyed quilting and was known for her giving of her quilts and her many other ways of generosity. She will be sadly missed by her family: John (Tammy), Ont.; Maria Nelson (Jim), Plymouth; Pat (Barb), Alberta; Cathy, Ont.; Robert (Paula), Moncton; Pam Penner (Rodger), B.C.; and Jennifer, New Glasgow; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and sisters, Dorothy, Manitoba; Joan and Mary, Ontario; two half-brothers, Henry and Tom, Ontario. She was predeceased by her husband, John H. Albers, and sister, Helen. Visitations will be held Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. Her funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday from Munroe Avenue Baptist Church with Pastor Jerry Stearns and Pastor Tim MacDonald officiating. Burial will be in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Aberdeen Hospital Palliative Care.
