Catherine George, born Aug. 12, 1931, of Victoria Mines and formerly of 17 Gillis Lane, New Victoria, passed away peacefully Feb. 23, 2010, at An Cala, Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in New Victoria, she was the adopted daughter of the late Joseph and Kate (McKinnon) Fraser.
Catherine attended All Saints Anglican Church, New Waterford.
Catherine received a great amount of joy from her cat, C’mon. She also enjoyed working in her flower garden and playing cards.
Catherine is survived and will be sadly missed by her children, Leonard, Dartmouth, Lois (Albert), New Waterford, Norene (Edward), Victoria Mines (with whom she resided); and daughter-in-law, Arlene; grandchildren, Chandra, Ashley and Kathleen, Courtney and Lucinda, Robert and Kenzie. Also surviving are her siblings, Patricia, Betty, Arthur, Joseph, Evelyn, Hattie and David.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert and her son, Terrence.
There will be no visitation. A private family graveside service will be held at Forest Haven Memorial Gardens, Sydney, at a later date.
Donations in her memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or a charity of one’s choice. No flowers by request.
