Scotch Hill – Agnes Elizabeth Bray, 93, of Scotch Hill, Pictou County, passed away November 5, 2007, in Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Three Brooks, she was a daughter of the late William Edward and Agnes (English) Davidson. An avid card and bingo player, Lizzie enjoyed knitting, had a great sense of humour, and a love of reading. She worked as a cook in logging camps, a seniors home, and a lobster factory. She spent 10 years looking after her grandparents before marrying. The last surviving member of her immediate family she was predeceased by her husband, Donald Murray Bray; son, Raymond; daughter, Elsie; brothers: John George, Henry and Edward; sisters: Tena Beck, May MacDonald, and Bertie McCulloch. She is survived by five daughters: Tootsie (Harold) MacRae, Pictou; Peggy (Bill) Echlin, Lyons Brook; Jessie (Ket) Casey, Pictou; Norma (Leonard) Lynch, Scotch Hill; Donna (Sandy) Usher, Three Brooks; and six sons: Sandy (Peggy), Nickie (Nellie), Gary (Irene), all of Scotch Hill; Allan (Dawn), Pictou; Billy (Debbie), Scotch Hill; and Ricky (Leah), Hinton, Alberta; 32 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today (Wednesday) in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday from the St. James Anglican Church, Pictou, with Archdeacon Peter Armstrong officiating. Burial will be in Haliburton Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations in her memory may be made to the Palliative Care Unit of Aberdeen Hospital.
