Anita Joyce Cunningham

PLYMOUTH - Anita Joyce Cunningham, 59, Plymouth, passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2007, in the Aberdeen Hospital. Born in New Glasgow, she was the daughter of the late Harold Fraser and Anna Mae (Grealey) (Fraser) Pollard. Anita was a member of St Gregory's Roman Catholic Church, New Glasgow, where she taught catechism. She was president of the Pictou County Artists Association and a member of the Plymouth Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Anita enjoyed painting, bingo and Monday morning bowling with the Women's Institute. She enjoyed going for Sunday drives and cherished the time spent with her pet dog, Bengi. Surviving are, her husband of 40 years, Maurice E.H.; son, Steven (Noreen) Nowe, Halifax; daughters, Marsha Cunningham (Kevin Cabaj), Plymouth; Kara Cunningham (Chris Allen), Plymouth; grandson, Steven; sister, Evelyn, Trenton; brothers, Wes (Eileen), Ontario; John "Jack", New Glasgow; numerous nieces, nephews cousins, sisters and brothers-in-law. She was predeceased by a sister, Katherine Fraser, in infancy and stepfather, Calvin Pollard. Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and St Gregory's CWL will meet for prayers at 6:45 p.m. all Thursday in the P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Friday in St. Gregory's Roman Catholic Church with Father Colin MacKinnon officiating. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery.
