ARNOLD GEORGE ROBERT FLEIGER

FLEIGER, ARNOLD GEORGE ROBERT The death of Arnold George Robert Fleiger occurred at the Ormocto Public Hospital on Tuesday, April 9, 2002. Born in Chatham, NB, the son of the late Harold and Lillian (Whelan) Fleiger, husband of the late Patricia Fleiger. Arnold enlisted in the military in Chatham in 1945 and served in WWII and Korea before retiring in 1978. He was a member of the Black Watch, the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #93, the Knights of Columbus, and Oromocto Lions Club. He was in the Canadian Boxing Hall of Fame, as well as The Walls of Fame in Chatham and Oromocto and a recipient of the Francis Peabody Award. Survived by three sons, Michael and Gary of Waasis, and Paul (Patricia) of Lincoln, NB; one daughter Rachel Fleiger of Fredericton; 10 grandchildren, five great grandchildren, three brothers ,Frank (Rose), Colin (Alice) and Harold (Carol) Fleiger all of Chatham, NB. Predeceased by his parents, his wife Patricia and one brother Allison Fleiger. Visitation will take place at the Oromocto Select Community Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 10, from 79 p.m. and Thursday,April 11th from 24 and 7-9 p.m. the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #93 will hold a tribute service at the funeral home on Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Vincent de Paul Church on Friday, April 12, at 11:00 a.m., Rev. Don Savoie will officiate. in lieu of flowers, donations made to NewBrunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation or charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated. www.oromoctofh.com 357-5100.
