GUY SANFORD NEEDLES
NEEDLES, GUY SANFORD The death of Guy Sanford Needles of Saint John, and formerly of Stanley, New Brunswick, husband of Muriel (Elgee) Needles, occurred on Tuesday, April 9, 2002 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Napadogan, he was the son of the late Thomas and Dora Maude (Bartlett) Needles. Mr. Needles was formerly employed with McAvity -Crane Canada in Saint John until his retirement in 1982. Guy and Muriel then moved back to Stanley in 1984, where they resided until returning to Saint John in 2000. Guy was Presbyterian by faith, being a member of St. Peter's Church in Stanley. He attended St. Columba Church when in Saint John. He enjoyed the outdoors, and liked to hunt and fish. In addition to his wife of 59 years, Guy is survived by brothers William (Bill) and Donald, both of Toronto; and sisters Mary Nesbitt and Margaret Armstrong (Corday) of Toronto and Gertrude Fitzgerald of Saint John; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers James, Robert, Willis, Stanley, Vincent, Deryl, and Alvin; and by sisters Freida Harkins, Laura Smith, and Vera Needles. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton North, on Friday from 10 - 11 AM. The funeral service will be held on Friday, April 12, 2002 at 11:00 AM from York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel. Rev. Donald G. Wilkinson will officiate. Interment will take place in St. Peter's Cemetery, Stanley. The active pallbearers will be John McPhee, Dale Needle, Gerald Price, Elmer Needle, John Humble, and Wilson Clarkson. The honourary pallbearers will be Earle MacNaughton, Vaughn Hossack, Ralph Bennett, Neil Hood, Alvin Bartlett, and Ed McAloon. For those who wish, remembrances to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, St. Peter's Presbyterian Cemetery, or to any charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
