Truro/New Glasgow - It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Annie Mae Yerxa on March 25, 2007, formerly of New Glasgow and Garden of Eden, who resided the past seven years at the Mira Long Term Care Centre, Truro. Born in Priestville on April 29, 1908, she was the daughter of the late Roderick and Margaret (Cameron) MacDonald. Annie was a homemaker all of her life. In her younger years she loved her flower gardens, cooking, knitting and sewing and her family was the most important thing to her. Surviving are a daughter, Myrtle Fraser, Truro; son, Clyde "Bud"; and daughter-in-law, Marion, Garden of Eden; step-daughters: Gertrude Williams, Moncton; Catherine Purvis, Walkerville; Mable Fraser, New Glasgow; sister, Ruth Feit, Walkerville; five grandchildren, 14 step-grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, John; brothers: Henry, George, Dan, Edward, Ivan, Will, Albert and Stanley; sisters, Margaret Forbes, Mary Henderson; son-in-law, Simon Fraser, grandson, Gerald Fraser; step-grandsons, Bob Fraser and Jack Purvis. Cremation has taken place, there will be no visitation by request. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday from the H.W. Angus Funeral Home Chapel, New Glasgow with Rev. Calvin Crichton officiating. Relatives and friends can meet with the family at a reception at First Presbyterian Church, MacLean St., New Glasgow following the funeral service. Interment will be in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens. Family flowers only. Donations in her memory may be made to Blair Presbyterian Church, Garden of Eden or a charity of your choice.
