Barbara Ann Campbell

Stellarton – Campbell, Barbara Ann, 65 of Stellar Street, Stellarton, passed away September 5, 2008, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, after a year-long fight with cancer. Born in Moncton, NB, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Vonnie (Keay) Carpenter. Barb was a longtime dedicated member of the Stellarton Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, receiving her 25-year pin and being made a honourary member. She was a longtime employee of C.M. Carpenter Ltd. and was employed with Sunshine Drycleaners at the time of her death. She was also a former employee of Summer Street Industries in New Glasgow. Barb was an adherent of Sharon St. John United Church, Stellarton. Surviving are her husband Rae; her children Glenn (Kelly) Bethune, Stellarton; Tami Hachey (Don Murray), Truro; grandchildren Kailyn and Braidon Hachey; sisters Nan (Ron) Leger, Moncton; Judith (Floyd) Fullerton, Lower Sackville; Linda MacDonald, Stellarton; brothers Philip Carpenter (Pat Roach), Stellarton; Bruce (Debbie) Carpenter, Stellarton; Doug (Wendy) Carpenter, Greenwood; Steven (Nancy) Carpenter, Fort McMurray; numerous nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law Betty Carpenter, Moncton; and Anna Campbell, Stellarton. A brother Gordon predeceased her. There will be no visitation by request. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow, with Rev. Charles McPherson officiating. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to Summer Street Industries or the Aberdeen Palliative Care Society.
