STELLARTON - Bertrum George “Bert” Dawson, 71, Stellarton, passed away peacefully, Saturday October 11, 2008, surrounded by family, in Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Springhill, he was a son of the late Roy William and Evelyn Esther (Spence) Dawson. Bert was a cab driver with Jim and Parker’s Taxi for almost 20 years. Bert enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Joyce (Ripley) Dawson; son, Robert “Bob” (Carolyn), Burton, N.B.; daughters, Margaret Tibbetts, Plymouth; Mary-Scott (Raymond) Windsor, Riverton; Kim (Trevor) Jordan, Garden of Eden; grandchildren: Rachael, Phillip, Sarah, Josh, Santana, Joey, Michael, Sheldon, David and Jarrett. Cremation has taken place.Their will be no visitation by request. A private service will be held. Donations may be made in his memory to the IWK Health Centre Foundation.
