NEW GLASGOW – Bruce Philip Smith, 51, of Washington St., New Glasgow, passed away June 22, 2008, at home. Born in New Glasgow he is a son of Viola Smith, Stellarton, and the late Philip Smith. He was a former employee of the NSLC and worked at various other jobs throughout the county. Bruce loved to walk and would be frequently seen walking between New Glasgow and Stellarton. He loved animals, enjoyed camping and fishing. Besides his mother Viola he is also survived by two sisters, a niece and two nephews. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation by request. A private family service will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery. Donations in memory of Bruce may be made to the Pictou County SPCA. Arrangements are under the direction of the H.C. MacQuarrie Funeral Home, Stellarton.
