Cameal Carlyle

Cameal Mildred Carlyle, age 61, of Pineview Crescent, Stellarton, formerly of Westville, passed away on Friday, May 9, 2008, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. A native of Westville, she was a daughter of the late Peter and Beatrice (Garneau) Johnstone. Cameal attended the Victoria School in Westville and in later years returned to graduate from Westville High School. She went on to graduate from the Aberdeen School of Nursing. For the last number of years Cameal was a driving force in the development of the family business which operated stores in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. Cameal always viewed her greatest accomplishments in life to be that of raising her children and spoiling her grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by her husband, Ron; daughter, Stephanie Jones (David Izzard), New Glasgow; son, Derek Jones (Rebecca Drum), Charlottetown; grandchildren, Joseph, Jacob, and Ethan; sisters: Penny Duggan, and Theresa Butler, Westville; Wanda Morris, Ajax, Ont.; Jane Bond, Walkerville; Beatrice Weaver (John), Halifax; Ida Quesnel (John), Montreal; Caroline Atwater (John Matheson), MacLellan's Brook; brothers, Fraser (Leslie), and Paul Johnstone, Westville; Norman Johnstone, Riverton Heights. She was predeceased by sister, Brenda Emilio; brother, Peter "Sonny" Johnstone. Visitations will be held on Monday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. Her funeral service will be held 1 o'clock Wednesday from St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Westville, with the Rev. Charles MacPherson officiating. Burial will be in the Auburn Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to the Aberdeen Palliative Care Society.
