It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our much loved mother Catherine (Kay) Marion Hendsbee Westville, formerly of Trenton. Surrounded by family, Mom died peacefully and with dignity August 21st following complications from surgery, QE11 Health Center. Mom was born May 1st, 1929 in Westville, the daughter of the late Tena (Oldford) and John Cyr, Westville. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Aulden and sister, Nancy, granddaughters Carol and Melanie, all in infancy. Mom is survived by sons, Russell (Lois) and Kevin, Westville, Steve (Bev) Trenton, daughters Brenda (Tom) Belliveau, Lr. Sackville, Cindy (Gary) Perrin, Westville and Lori (Kevin) MacDonald, Lr. Barneys River. Mom enjoyed her family and was especially proud of her 16 grandchildren: grandaughters Dawn, Kim, Krista, Jill, Amy, Angie, Allison, Christy, Carla, Caity and Mcarra; grandsons, Steven, Craig, Michael, Ryan, Matthew, and 13 great-grandchildren. Mom taught us unconditional love and the importance of family. Over the years she enjoyed card club, bingo, darts, bowling, and doing crossword puzzles, but most importantly loved just spending time with family and friends. Our mother was fortunate to have all her siblings close by, sisters, Mildred Power, Sheila MacLaren, Karen Cormier and brothers, Doug, Richard, and Ralph Cyr. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 6-9 p.m.; Monday Aug. 25th at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. Funeral Mass to be held Tuesday, Aug. 26th, 11 a.m. at Holy Name Parish, North Main St. Westville. A private family burial of ashes will take place at a later date. Family flowers only please. Donations in memory of our mother may be made to Pictou County Food Bank or the SPCA. Mom, we will miss you and your gentle ways and know that we will carry your love in our hearts forever.
