Central Caribou – Cecil MacLean Heughan, 93, of Central Caribou, passed away June 15, 2008, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Central Caribou, he was a son of the late Alonzo and Mabel (Turple) Heughan. He is survived by his daughters, Eleanor Disley, Kitchener, Ontario; Cecilia Taylor, Edmonton, Alberta; sister, Esther Wagensveld, Cambridge, Ontario; grandchildren: Sue (Brian) Wright, London, Ontario; Brad (Natalie) Taylor, Sherwood Park, Alberta; Mark (Jennifer) Karlsen, Kitchener, Ontario; Wayne (Belinda) Karlsen, Gadsden, Alabama; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; many nieces and nephews. Cecil was predeceased by sisters, Edna and Viola; brothers: Warren, Ira and Louis; wife, Christina; two great-granddaughters in infancy. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. Funeral service will take place 2 p.m. Thursday from First Presbyterian Church, Pictou, with Rev. Iona MacLean officiating. Burial will be in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens. Family flowers only please. Donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia.
