BERTHA JEAN PETERSON

PETERSON, BERTHA JEAN The death of Bertha Jean Peterson occurred on Wednesday, August 14th, 2002 in the loving arms of her daughters at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. She was born in Taxis River on February 1st, 1929. She was the daughter of the late Raymond and Lila Munn. Bertha was a homemaker most of her life and was a avid quilter. Her quilts grace many of the homes in Canada and the USA. She knit socks and mittens for every child within a fifty miles radius. She loved bingo and went every chance she got. Her greatest love of all was her grandchildren. She was a wonderful loving mother who did without many times for her children. She loved to write songs and poems and loved to draw. She was a woman of many talents. She was loved by everyone and will be missed greatly. Survived by her daughters, Connie Mitchell of Fredericton, Corinne Peterson (Terry) of Noon; four grandchildren, Angeline, Josh, Ryan and Emily, her partner in life Gerry Parson; four great-grandchildren, Lacy, Katrina, Kevan and Tyler; several nieces and nephews. Two brothers, Raymond (Grace) of Taxis River, Frederick (Velma) of Westfield; four sisters, Hilda Rice and Bessie Boies (Angus) both of Boistown, Almeda Munn of Holtville, and Noreen Nason (Barry) of Taxis River; sister-in-law Myrtle Munn. She was predeceased by her husband Lewis, one son, Hayward, infant daughter, Sharon, two sisters, Ruth and Mildred, one brother, Edward, two grandsons, Jeffery Woodcock, Christopher Carr; two brother - in -law Harold Rice and Adrian Munn. Visitation will take place at McAdam's Select Community Funeral Home on Friday, August 16th, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral service will take at the J. A. McAdam Memorial Chapel on Saturday, August 17th, at 2:00 PM. Peter Somerville Director of Pastoral Care of York Manor will officiate. Interment will take place in McGiveny Cemetery.
