ETHEL LESLIE KING
KING, ETHEL LESLIE The passing of Ethel Leslie King of Fredericton, and formerly of Lower Hainesville, wife of Harold King, occurred on Tuesday, August 20, 2002 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born in Woodland, she was the daughter of the late James and Mary (Thomas) Wilkins. Mrs. King was formerly employed with Clark's Chick Hatchery and as a Red Cross homemaker. She was a member of the First Wesleyan Church, Fredericton, and was involved in all aspects of the Lower Hainesville Wesleyan Church for over 50 years. Ethel also enjoyed bowling in the Christian Bowling League and the Marysville Senior Bowling League, and liked to quilt, sew and knit. Ethel loved her family and friends, always making her home open for everyone. In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, David (Jane) of Mount Uniacke, Nova Scotia, Peter (Sue) of Toronto, and Larry (Gwen) of Hainesville; three daughters, JoAnn (David) Flemming of Terrace, BC, Nancy (Charles) Maillet of Hainesville and Margaret (Adrian) Bishop of Hainesville; sisters Julia (Merle) Clowater of Fredericton, Hilda (Earl) Pellerine of Halifax, Greta Thomas of Fredericton and Jean (James) Agnew of Fredericton; grandchildren Angela, Dave, Timothy, Mary Ann, Lisa, Brenda Lee, Mindy, Ryan, Amanda, Megan, and Kelsey; great grandchildren Eric, Rebecca, Breanna, and Riley; a brother-in-law Cecil (Nina) King; sisters-in-law Maxine King and Evangeline King; and several nieces and nephews. Ethel was predeceased by a son, Timothy John; brothers Garnet and Archibald Wilkins; and sisters Maggie Painter and Ellen Stickles. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton North, on Thursday from 24 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Friday at 2:00 PM from the Lower Hainesville Wesleyan Church. Rev. Sheila McCrea-MacCallum will officiate, assisted by Rev. Norman Trapfton and Rev. Fred Whittier. Interment will take place in the Lower Hainesville Cemetery. The pallbearers will be grandsons Dave King and Ryan Maillet, and grandsons-in-law Mark Thebeau, Darren Morehouse, Ed Beazley, and Lloyd Blagdon. For those who wish, remembrances to the Lower Hainesville Wesleyan Church or to any charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
