Gordon Maxwell Templeman
Passed peacefully away at the Salvation Army Glenbrook Lodge on Monday, June 2, 2008, Gordon Maxwell Templeman at the age of 81. Gordon grew up in Newtown, Bonavista Bay. He and his family also resided in Wabush where he worked for many years at Wabush Mines. He retired in 1991 and spent his retirement years in Paradise and Newtown. Gordon loved trout fishing in Shoal Arm Pond and spent many hours berry picking. He was a lover of animals, especially his canine buddy, Sasha. He is predeceased by his parents Philip and Emma Templeman and by a very special grandson, Dr. Neal Simon. Left with fond and loving memories are his loving and dedicated wife Carrie (nee Perry); daughters: Doreen (Dave Simon), Roslyn (Greg Gosse), Peggy (Pat Marrie); sons: Leonard (Olive) and Gordie (Sandra). Also mourning his loss are his grandchildren: Nicole Simon, Michael and Philip Templeman, Ashley and Amanda Templeman, Jonathan Marrie and Victoria Gosse; his sisters: Evelyn Hunter (Val), Olive Simmons (Vern) and Linda Herner (Ken); brothers-in-law: Ben Perry (Julie) and Edward Leonard; and special cousin Sylvia Rowe whose dogs brought joy to Gordon; as well as a large circle of relatives and friends. Resting at Barrett's Funeral Home on Hamilton Avenue. Visitation on Tuesday, June 3rd from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Wednesday, June 4th from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Celebration of Gordon's life to take place on Thursday, June 5th at 2 p.m. from Barrett's Chapel with burial at Topsail United Church Cemetery. No flowers by request. Donations in his memory may be made to the Dr. Neal Simon Memorial Scholarship Fund or to the Salvation Army Glenbrook Lodge.
