A largely attended funeral of relatives and friends was held August 11, 2008, for Daniel Hugh "Danny" MacKinnon at the H. W. Angus Funeral Chapel. The service was conducted by Rev. Leo Fletcher of First United Baptist Church, who delivered a comforting message to the family and read inspirational scripture messages, including John Chapter 3. Burns MacDonald was organist and soloist with Morning Has Broken and The Lord's Prayer. Danny's brother-in-law, Supreme Court Justice Ted Margeson, delivered a very emotional and touching eulogy. Pallbearers were nephews: Wayne, Stephen, Bruce, Donald and Thomas Margeson and Jamie O'Brien. Following the interment in Abercrombie Cemetery a reception for all was held at First Baptist Church. Albion Lodge #5 AF & AM conducted their service at the funeral home.
