David Benvie Macdonald

Stellarton: David Benvie MacDonald, age 62 of Foster Ave, Stellarton, passed away on Friday, October 3, 2008, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in New Glasgow he was the son of the late Annie C. MacDonald and John Fraser. David was a lifelong resident of Stellarton. He started his working life as an auto mechanic, then he went on to be a millwright working for Nova Scotia Power. He was an adherant of Christ Anglican Church. David was an avid hunter and fisherman. He will be remembered as a kind and caring person willing to help anyone in need. David’s most important thing in life was spending time with his family. Surviving are his wife, the former Cathy Pound; sons, Jimmy (Liz) of Stellarton, Colin (Maddi) of Halifax; a daughter, Beth of Sackville N.B./ Stellarton; a grandson, Draven; brothers, Gus and Danny both of Stellarton; a sister, Mary Simpson of Trenton. He was predeceased by a brother, Joe, and an infant granddaughter. The family will receive visitors from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday in the H.C. MacQuarrie Funeral Home, Stellarton. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. from Christ Anglican Church with Rev. Aidan Kingsbury officiating. Burial will be in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery. Donations in memory of David may be made to the Palliative Care Society of the Aberdeen Hospital.
