Dean Conway Macadam

Dean Conway MacAdam, age 82, of Marsh Street, New Glasgow, passed away on Saturday, June 7th, 2008, at his home. Born in New Glasgow, he was the son of the late Donald George and Irene (Greene) MacAdam. Dean was a lifelong resident of New Glasgow. He was a former employee of Nova Scotia Power having retired with 31 years' service. Dean was a veteran of WW II having enlisted with the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1943 . He served in St.Thomas Ont. and Tor Bay Newfoundland as a leading aircraftsman. He was a member of the # 110 Norththumberland Wing, Air Force Association. He was a member of St. George’s Anglican Church. Having a passion for music Dean played in various orchestras in Pictou County. Surviving are his wife, the former Kathryn Anna Jordan of Valley View Villa, Riverton; a son, Ralph (Betty) MacAdam of Island East River; a daughter, Shirley (Demarais) of New Glasgow; sister-in-law, Isabel Mason of New Glasgow; cousins, Doug Sinnis of Riverton, Jean Fraser of Westville; several nieces and nephews Cremation has taken place. A public memorial service will take place in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday at 2 p.m. A time of fellowship will follow the service at Garden Suites Activity Centre, 390 Marsh Street, New Glasgow. Burial will be in the Thorburn Cemetery at a later date. Family Flowers only please. Donations in memory of Dean may be made to the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Fund, the Arthritic Association or to a charity of one’s choice.
