HOLROYD, KENNETH LESLIE The death of Kenneth Leslie Holroyd of Windsor Court, Fredericton, and formerly of New Maryland, husband of Christine Alma (Smith) Holroyd, occurred on Wednesday, December 4, 2002 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born in Huddersfield, Yorkshire, England, he was the son of the late Rufus and Ethel (Leather) Holroyd. Mr. Holroyd was connected with the wool trade in England and in the United States. For many years he was a Director and Vice-President of Hirsch and Sons (Boston) Inc., in Boston, Massachusetts, and was well known in trade circles. He traveled extensively as part of his occupation, including to several destinations in Africa. He was an adherent of Grace Memorial Baptist Church in Fredericton. In addition to his wife, Mr. Holroyd is survived by several nieces and nephews, including a niece and nephew in England. He was predeceased by a brother, George, and by an infant sister. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 3:00 PM from York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton North. Rev. Doug Hapeman will officiate. Interment will take place at a later date in the Fredericton Rural Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1:30 PM until the time of the funeral.
