NEW GLASGOW – Helen Doris Aileene Andrews, age 81, of MacDonald St., New Glasgow, passed away Monday, April 21, 2008, in the Aberdeen Hospital Palliative Care Unit. Born in Oxford Junction, she was a daughter of the late John and Lydia (Smith) Stone. She was a former employee of the George Street Meat Market and Fraser and Hoyt. She later owned and operated the Shell Garage in Abercrombie and the Shell Bulk Plant in New Glasgow. She was a member of Saint Andrew’s Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her daughter, Jacklyn Andrews, New Glasgow; son, Russ (Kathleen), Little Harbour; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild. She was predeceased by her husband, John William “Red”; son, John Archibald “Archie”; two sisters; three brothers. Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Thursday, in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral service 1 p.m., Friday in Saint Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, New Glasgow, with Rev. Richard Sand officiating. Burial in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens.
