LYONS, JOAN IRIS The death of Joan Iris Lyons of McNamee, wife of the late Harold Lyons, occurred Sunday, December 29, 2002 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. She was 79. Born in Colchester, England, she was the daughter of the late Victor and Eunice Ainger. Mrs. Lyons was a member of the McNamee Pentecostal Assembly, where she was past secretary and taught Sunday school. Mrs. Lyons was a veteran of the Second World War, member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Boiestown, Normandy Branch # 78. She worked as a seamstress in her home. Mrs. Lyons is survived by two sons Nolan V. Lyons of McNamee NB and Jeffery E. Lyons of Edmonton AB; one daughter Cheryl Dudley and her husband Waldo of Fredericton NB; five grandchildren, Paula (Gino) Price, Kerry (Julie) Dudley, Blaine Lyons, Deanne (Lou) Mahar and Craig (Wanda) Lyons all of Saint John NB; eight great-grandchildren, Kristelle and Brett Price, Amanda, Dylan, Zachery, Amber, Jacob and Matthew; three sister in-laws Joan Ainger of Wales, Mary Corkum of Red Deer AB and Betty (Lawney) Price of Priceville NB; one niece and one nephew of Wales and several cousins in England. Besides her husband and parents she is predeceased by one infant daughter Noreen and one brother Bill. Visitation will take place on Tuesday December 31,2002 at the McMamee Pentecostal Assembly from 2-4 and 7-9pm . Funeral service will be held on Wednesday from the McNamee Pentecostal Assembly at 1pm with Pastor Cole Price officiating and Pastor J.W Beesley Assisting. Interment will take place at a later date in St. John's Anglican Cemetery, Carroll's Crossing, NB. For those who wish, remembrances to the Central New Brunswick Nursing Home or Charity of the Donor's Choice would be appreciated by the family.
