Stellarton – Douglas Leonard Marshall, age 80, of Weir Ave., Stellarton, and formerly of Ontario, passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2008, in the Aberdeen Hospital. Born in Glenfalloch, he was a son of the late Frank and Ann (McGuigan) Marshall. He was a retired steelworker with Debro Steel Co. in Ontario. He is survived by daughters: Brenda (Ralph) Keith; Janet Marshall (Grant); Cindy Luck, all of Mississauga, Ont; Valerie (Alan) McIntyre, Brampton, Ont; sons: Wayne (Karen); Gerry (Kim), both of Caledon, Ont; grandchildren: Douglas, Dwayne, Miranda, Cherish, Holly, Laura, Amanda, David, Jamie, Taylor, Sarah, Jessica, Julia, Shane, Theresa; six great-grandchildren; sisters: Marion (John) Kay; June Wylie, both of Trenton; Isabel Hayman, New Glasgow; beloved niece, Cheryl Leil. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Nora Farrell; son, Douglas, and infant son, Gary; sister, Rose Higgins; brothers: Donald, Glen and Lewie. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation by request. Memorial service 11 a.m. Saturday in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow, with Mr. Fergie MacKay officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to the Aberdeen Palliative Care Society.
