Eleanor Janet Clair (Shea) Foance -70, of Pine Tree Road, Pictou, passed away February 1, 2008, in Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born May 16, 1937, in Pictou, she was a daughter of the late Hiram and Sarah (Rudolph) Shea. In her younger days she had been an employee at Hamilton’s Biscuit Factory, and had lived in Caribou River before moving to town in 1963. A homebody at heart, Eleanor liked to be around the house, cooking or baking. She was predeceased by her husband, William Lloyd Foance, November 22, 1989; two children in infancy, Timothy in 1962, and Susan in 1963; brothers, Roy, Percy, and Alfred; sister, Jean Dalton; brothers-in-law, Stanley Foance, Bud MacPhail, and Charlie MacMillan. Surviving are daughter, Aleatha (John),Pictou; sons, David, Pictou; Jim (Sherry), Scotch Hill; Glen (Sandra), River John; six grandchildren: Patti, Stephen, Janet, Kathleen, Chantal, Hazen; and two great-grandchildren: Travis, and Alley. She is also survived by brothers, John (Linda), Jim (Cindy),both of London, Ontario; Bob; Ernest (Hazel), of Pictou; Donnie (Eleanor), Dartmouth; sister, Minnie MacPhail, Pictou; sisters-in-law: Sis Shea, Amherst, Zelma Shea, Pictou, Margaret MacMillian Pictou, Edna Day, Dartmouth; brother-in-law, Johnson Dalton, Oddfellows Home, Pictou; many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Tuesday in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. Funeral will take place 2 p.m. Wednesday from St. James Anglican Church, Pictou, with Rev. Bill White officiating. Burial will be in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens. Donations in her memory may be made to the Kidney Foundation or the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
