WARD PATTERSON CARLISLE

CARLISLE, WARD PATTERSON The death of Ward Patterson Carlisle of Windsor Court, and formerly of Douglas, husband of Margaret (Morriscey) Carlisle, occurred on Monday, March 3, 2003 at his residence. Born in Douglas on February 4, 1916, he was the son of the late Burton and Lillie Jane (Everett) Carlisle. Mr. Carlisle operated a family farm and apple orchard in Douglas for a number of years. After retiring from farming, he also drove school bus for a short time. He was a member of the Douglas Baptist Church, where he was very active in all church activities, including being a long time Sunday School Teacher and Deacon. He was interested in people of all ages, having many friends and acquaintances in the Fredericton area. He also liked to fish, and was formerly a member of the Orange Order. In addition to his wife, Mr. Carlisle is survived by his daughter, Nancy Jean Curtis and her husband Roger of Arlington, Texas; a granddaughter, Stephanie Kelly and her husband Reagan of Virginia; a great granddaughter, Alexandra; a sister, Vera Hoyt of Fredericton; sisters-in-law Bertha Carlisle of Douglas and Evelyn Carlisle of Keswick Ridge; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Carlisle was predeceased by his first wife, Ruth (Alexander) Carlisle; brothers Spencer, Walter, and Everett; and by a sister, Jean Currie. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton North, on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Thursday at 2:00 PM from the Douglas Baptist Church. Rev. Jerry Horsman will officiate. Interment will take place at a later date in the Douglas Rural Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Paul O'Connell, Clarence Sherman, Robbie Gilmore, Allison Carlisle, Gordon (Mac) Carlisle, and Joel LaPointe.
