MACDONALD, ALAN CHARLES Surrounded by his family Alan C. MacDonald, age 71 of Fredericton passed away on March 15, 2003 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born in Nashwaaksis he was a son of the late Earle and Jenny (Pace) MacDonald. He was a member of the Anglican Church as well as an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Al was active in youth hockey and minor baseball having served as a director of FYHA. He was a retired civil servant with the Federal Government where he was Chief of old age security. Survived by his wife of 49 years Catherine (Edwards) MacDonald, four children Patti (Joe) Mazeika of Wilbraham, Mass., Pam (Gary) Murphy of Fredericton, Judy (Michael) MacKay of Winnipeg and Bill (Trina) MacDonald of Fredericton, six grandchildren Jaclyn, Ryan, Andrew, Scott, Patrick and Jordan, a brother, Albert (Edith) MacDonald of Fredericton, a sister Jean Miller of St. John's, Nfld, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers Murray and Fred and sister Phyllis. Although there will be no visitation a funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. from St. John's Anglican Church, Main Street with Rev. William MacMullin officiating. Interment will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Bishop's Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, have been entrusted with arrangements.
