PICTOU - Eva Olivene LeBlanc, 85, of Townsview Estates, Truro, and formerly of Union St., Pictou, passed away June 5, 2007, in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in Kemptown, she was a daughter of the late Edmund Elwood and Catherine Jane (Landsburg) Hingley. A very independent, hard working, and honest person, Eva had worked at Fullerton's Nursing Home, and the old I.O.O.F. Home as a caregiver, housekeeper, and cook. She will be remembered as a generous, adoring grandmother, with a great sense of humour. Surviving are sons, Jerry (Marilyn), Pictou; Patrick (Valerie), New Glasgow; daughter, Donna (Wilfred) MacArthur, Hardwood Hill; daughter-in-law, Susan, Pictou; brother, Stanley (Janet) Hingley, New Glasgow; grandchildren: Darren, Brian, Melanie, Victoria, Donald and Toni Marie LeBlanc, Joshua and Jeremy MacArthur; two great-grandchildren; special niece, June MacDonald, Thorburn. She was predeceased by her husband, Gerald; son, Robert; brother, Henry; sisters: Laura Matheson, Isabel Archibald and Lucy Archibald. Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. today in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. Funeral will be held 10 a.m. Friday from Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church, Pictou, with Father Peter MacDonald officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
